Habitat for
Humanity of West Virginia partners with Habitat for Humanity of
Jackson County to build the 600th Habitat house in
West Virginia.
Throughout the state of West
Virginia, Habitat for Humanity affiliates have been hammering
out homes since 1987. Now, all of that hammering and all of the
homes have added up to a significant milestone – the building of
the 600th Habitat home in the state.
“The 600th home
symbolizes Habitat for Humanity’s commitment to serving WV
families in need of affordable housing”
said Alvin
Phillips, Board President of the state support organization
in West Virginia. “600 homes for 600 West Virginia families!
This is a milestone worth celebrating!” said Phillips.
The 600th
house will be built in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of
Jackson County. “The
Habitat affiliates throughout the state have accomplished so
much in 20 years,” said Donna Dehart, Executive Director for
Jackson County. “We are honored to be a symbol of their hard
work by having the 600th home built in our
community.”
Habitat for
Humanity of West Virginia and Habitat for Humanity of Jackson
County finalized the partnership agreement in October with the
signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. “We are excited to
host this special celebration build and encourage everyone in
the community to get involved”, said Ms. DeHart.
